Hampyeong-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution for Three Consecutive Years in the 'Local Tax Delinquent Carryover Collection Evaluation'

Exceeded 124.3% of the Target Achievement

[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County was selected as an excellent institution in the '2021 Local Tax Carryover Arrears Collection Evaluation' hosted by Jeollanam-do, earning the honor of winning for three consecutive years.

According to the county on the 29th, Jeollanam-do evaluates and awards all collection work related to arrears, including local tax carryover arrears collection performance, targeting 22 cities and counties every year.

This year, Hampyeong County set a goal to clear 479 million KRW of arrears and carried out active collection activities such as lien seizure on bonds, public auction of automobiles, and retention of vehicle license plates targeting habitual high-amount defaulters.

As a result, out of 798 million KRW in carryover arrears, 595 million KRW was cleared, exceeding the target by 124.3%, receiving favorable evaluations in the collection rate and arrears disposition activities.

County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “Collecting overdue taxes should be actively carried out not only to realize tax justice but also to secure stable independent financial resources,” adding, “We will continue to discover various policies for taxpayer convenience and foster a culture of sincere tax payment through continuous arrears management.”
