Electric Vehicle Charging Fee Discount Up to 30,000 KRW per Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Samsung Card announced on the 29th that it has launched the 'Samsung iD EV Card,' a follow-up to the 'Samsung iD Card,' offering benefits tailored to the preferences of electric vehicle owners.
This card provides up to a 70% discount on electric vehicle charging fees, up to a maximum of 30,000 KRW per month, depending on the previous month's spending. If the previous month's spending is 300,000 KRW or more, a 50% discount on electric vehicle charging fees is applied on the payment date, up to 20,000 KRW per month. If the previous month's spending is 600,000 KRW or more, a 70% discount on electric vehicle charging fees is applied on the payment date, up to 30,000 KRW per month. The electric vehicle charging fee discount benefits are available at various charging stations including those operated by the Ministry of Environment, Tesla Superchargers, and Korea Electric Power Corporation.
There are also various automobile-related services for electric vehicle owners. If the previous month's spending is 300,000 KRW or more, a 10% discount on payment date is provided for parking, Hi-Pass, and designated driver services, up to a combined maximum of 5,000 KRW per month. Additionally, if Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Direct auto insurance is paid with this card for 300,000 KRW or more, a 30,000 KRW discount on the payment date is given once a year.
Furthermore, discounts are offered in various areas such as delivery applications (apps), streaming, and overseas usage. When using delivery apps with this card, a 10% discount on the payment date is provided up to 10,000 KRW per month depending on the previous month's spending. For streaming subscription payments, a 20% discount on the payment date is available up to 5,000 KRW per month. Delivery app and streaming discounts are provided when the previous month's spending is 300,000 KRW or more. Additionally, overseas payments including direct overseas purchases receive a 1% discount on the payment date without any limit on previous month's spending or discount cap.
The card plate is made using more than 50% recycled PVC, an eco-friendly material made from recycled plastic. Customers can choose between the 'Funky' design, which boldly expresses the EV life through typography, and the 'Energy Up' design, which features a pattern representing the moment the electric vehicle's energy gauge fills up.
The annual fee is 15,000 KRW for both domestic-only and international (Mastercard) versions. Benefits worth more than 630,000 KRW annually can be received.
A Samsung Card representative stated, "We plan to continuously introduce various services tailored to customers' preferences, including the 'Samsung iD EV Card.'"
