Failure of Kim Jong-in's Joining the People Power Party's Campaign Committee
Jin Joong-kwon and Kwon Kyung-ae Raise 'Jang Je-won's Responsibility' Issue
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Some are raising the 'Jang Je-won responsibility theory' regarding the failed joining of former People Power Party Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jong-in to Yoon Seok-yeol's presidential campaign committee. Representative Jang dismissed it as "malicious fake news" and hinted at legal action.
Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon targeted Representative Jang on the 28th via his Facebook, saying, "It seems Yoon's camp is in a situation like the end of the Fourth Republic. On the Yeouido streets, the term 'Jang Soon-sil (Jang Je-won + Choi Soon-sil)' is already circulating."
He continued, "The camp's message is going off track. Kim Byung-joon (Standing Campaign Committee Chairman) put him in that position thinking they could fully control him," criticizing, "Appointing Kim Sung-tae, who is involved in hiring corruption, scheduling a Chungcheong Province itinerary based on outdated regionalism?these are ideas only a very stubborn person could come up with."
Earlier, lawyer Kwon Kyung-ae, who co-authored the so-called 'Cho Kuk Black Book (A Country Never Experienced Before)' with former professor Jin, also pointed to Representatives Jang, Kwon Seong-dong, and Yoon Han-hong?close aides to candidate Yoon?as the 'Three Key Figures' and claimed, "Those who welcome the breakdown of negotiations are the Three Key Figures."
Representative Jang immediately pushed back. On the same day, he posted on Facebook, "I had much to say about the malicious fake news against me but endured it. However, I will actively respond to any further slander," hinting at legal action.
He added, "I hope the defamation against me stops. If you want to portray me as someone who manipulates campaign personnel behind the scenes and wields power, please present clear evidence," emphasizing, "I clearly state that I have never played any role in the events surrounding the appointment of the general campaign committee chairman."
Representative Jang also criticized former professor Jin, saying, "It is pitiful to see him desperately trying to reignite the fading issue of former Chairman Kim by targeting me," and added, "While I appreciate his tearful loyalty to former Chairman Kim, he must take legal responsibility for his cheap remarks. Former professor Jin is a 'true disruptor of regime change.'"
In response, former professor Jin immediately posted on Facebook, saying, "Go ahead and sue," and added, "Is it punishable to say that Kim Jong-in is a better choice than Jang Je-won as the top figure? Can't I even make passing commentary? I was just going to watch, but if you insist, I will fight to the end."
