The ‘Cheonho Aureum Center’ is a facility created to eliminate health disparities and enhance resident welfare within the small living area of Gucheonmyeon-ro. It embodies the meaning of different institutions such as the ‘Cheonho Health Branch’ and the ‘Single-Person Household Support Center’ coming together to provide various services.
The center has a total floor area of 1,668㎡ across two floors above ground. On the first floor, there is the ‘Cheonho Health Branch’ aimed at resolving welfare blind spots in the old downtown area. The second floor houses the ‘Single-Person Household Support Center’ to prevent social isolation and improve living conditions for single-person households, the ‘Physical Fitness Certification Center’ which provides customized exercise program prescriptions and sports welfare services, and the ‘Social Economy Enterprise Innovation Place’ which operates a permanent space for consulting and capacity building for social economy enterprises and prospective organizations.
First, the ‘Cheonho Health Branch’ offers high-quality health services through the ‘Health Management Center’ providing comprehensive services for the prevention and management of metabolic syndrome and chronic diseases, the ‘Rehabilitation Health Center’ improving the health status and management abilities of disabled persons in the community, and the ‘Mental Health Welfare Center’ offering various mental health services including psychological counseling and mental health assessments.
The ‘Single-Person Household Support Center’ operates on a membership basis targeting single-person households residing in the area and single-person household workers and business operators located within the region. Various programs to prevent social isolation of single-person households will be operated, including solo dining cooking classes, customized check-in programs for households at risk of lonely death, coin laundries, and household tool rental services.
The ‘Physical Fitness Certification Center’ is open to all residents aged 13 and older and is free of charge.
It provides sports welfare services that scientifically measure and evaluate physical fitness levels, offer customized exercise programs, systematic management, certificate issuance, and link exercise counseling and prescriptions.
The ‘Social Economy Enterprise Innovation Place’ operates residential spaces for social enterprises and spaces for capacity building, supporting infrastructure for nurturing social entrepreneurs with innovative ideas.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “The newly opened ‘Cheonho Aureum Center’ will expand opportunities for residents in the old downtown area to use health, welfare, and cultural facilities, further contributing to improving their quality of life.” He added, “We hope for much interest and use of the ‘Cheonho Aureum Center,’ a key space in the newly created walkable street area of Gucheonmyeon-ro.”
