Gwanak-gu Opens Sillim-dong Three-Room 'Zepeto', the Nation's First Metaverse Youth Culture Space

Experience youth services and friend gatherings at the lifelike 'Sillim-dong Three-Room'... Zepeto map opening commemorated with a photo certification event

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) has implemented an interactive youth cultural space in the digital yet real world of the 'Metaverse' for the first time nationwide.

The Metaverse is a compound word of meta, meaning transcendence or beyond, and universe, meaning the real world. With the increasing usage of metaverse platforms by the MZ generation, it is rapidly being utilized as a new communication platform in various fields such as public services, banking, and fashion.

The district chose the metaverse platform to provide various services of the 'Youth Cultural Space Sillim-dong Three-Room,' which supports youth cultural life, not only to young people but also to teenagers who are prospective youth, online.

By creating the space on the 'Zepeto Metaverse Platform,' a map was built so that youth can enjoy every corner of 'Sillim-dong Three-Room' and communicate youth-related information without physically visiting the center.

When you search for 'Sillim-dong Three-Room' on the Zepeto map and enter the map, you can see the actual space faithfully recreated, including ▲lounge and study ▲AI/VR interview experience booth ▲Sillim Workshop ▲multi-content room, and more.

An opening event has also been prepared to activate the Zepeto map.

Run the Zepeto app, create your own Zepeto character, then find and visit 'Gwanak Orang Sillim-dong Three-Room.' Upload a certification shot on your Instagram account and participate in the event to receive a gifticon through a lottery.

For detailed participation methods, refer to the 'Sillim-dong Three-Room Blog.' The district plans to continuously use the Zepeto map to conduct various promotional events and community programs.

'Sillim-dong Three-Room' is located in the university area where many youth come and go (Sillim-ro 91, 3rd floor) and actively operates both online and offline ▲one-on-one and group comprehensive life counseling ▲expert-linked counseling (mental health, housing, employment, etc.) ▲support for youth community activities ▲cultural and artistic classes such as bookbinding and knitting ▲housing education including one-room repair and organizing and storage. Any youth aged 19 to 39 who need space for internet lectures, interview studies, etc., can visit.

A district official said, "As the metaverse is emerging not just as an alternative way to connect individuals in the with-COVID era but as another way to meet people in an expanded world, we will operate policies that youth want in line with trends."
