A Man in His 20s Who Assaulted His Girlfriend While Drinking Together... Also Threw Punches at Responding Police Officers

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 20s was arrested for repeatedly assaulting his girlfriend and throwing punches at police officers who arrived at the scene.

Seoul Gwanak Police Station announced on the 28th that they have arrested and are investigating Mr. A (22) on charges of injury and obstruction of official duties.

Mr. A is accused of assaulting his girlfriend with his fists and a full-length mirror at his home in Gwanak-gu around 12:30 a.m. on the same day while drinking together. It is also reported that Mr. A threw punches at two police officers who responded to the scene.

Mr. A's girlfriend and the responding police officers sustained injuries and received treatment at a nearby hospital. The police plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A and investigate the exact circumstances of the crime.
