[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Hwasun County (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 28th that about 10 students participating in the Youth After-School Academy conducted a cultural experience event on the 27th at the Hwasun Artists Village Permanent Exhibition Hall and the Hwasun County Seokbong Art Museum.
This experience activity was promoted as part of the 'Youth After-School Academy Culture Day Event' to provide broad opportunities for cultural and artistic enjoyment to youths who have had difficulty participating in experience activities due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The participating students appreciated a special exhibition of the late works of Gu Cheol-woo, a native of Hwasun, at the Hwasun Artists Village Permanent Exhibition Hall located in Neungju-myeon, and experienced calligraphy and painting the Four Gracious Plants (sagunja).
One participating student said, "I was disappointed because drawing bamboo leaves, which seemed easy, was not well done," and added, "Expressing leaves using ink and brush, which I had never experienced before, was very fun."
At the Hwasun County Seokbong Art Museum, they also appreciated the planned exhibition titled 'Chrysanthemum Fragrance, Scattering' featuring chrysanthemum flowers by artists Ryu Jae-woong, Jeong Seon-hwi, and Lee Ji-ho.
An official from Hwasun County said, "By organizing programs linked to local cultural and artistic resources, it became an opportunity to energize participating youths," and added, "We will continue to develop and provide diverse and beneficial Saturday experience programs for youths to meet their various cultural needs."
