Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, who is on his third consecutive day visiting Honam, attended a worship service at Yangnim Church in Gwangju on this day. Lee said, "I worshiped at the church that sheltered citizens and conducted on-site relief and rescue activities during the May 18 Democratic Movement," and delivered a message stating, "We will definitely correct the historical distortion of the May 18 Democratic Movement."
He then moved to Songjeong Market to listen to the voices of merchants. It is known that he will express his determination to present measures to alleviate the damage suffered by small business owners due to COVID-19 at this venue. Afterwards, he will hold a meeting with local reporters at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center.
After the meeting, he will hold the launch ceremony of the ‘Gwangju Great Transformation Campaign Headquarters.’ At this event, he plans to express his intention to achieve young reform together with the 2030 generation. Later, Lee will move to Naju, Jeollanam-do, to hold a town hall meeting with residents of the Naju Bitgaram Innovation City. At this meeting, he plans to introduce development plans for the innovation city, including raising the local talent employment rate.
Candidate Yoon will hold the launch event of the Youth Committee together with the Youth Headquarters under the General Headquarters Organization of the campaign headquarters at a cafe in Yeouido in the afternoon. The Youth Committee is a direct organization of Candidate Yoon, separate from the Youth Headquarters, and Yoon himself will serve as the chairman.
As the votes of the 2030 generation have become important in this presidential election, Candidate Yoon has a plan to lead youth participation through the Youth Committee and other means.
Kim Byung-joon, the standing campaign committee chairman who will effectively lead Candidate Yoon’s campaign headquarters, will hold a press conference in the morning to disclose the operation plan of the campaign headquarters.
Ahn Cheol-soo, the People’s Party presidential candidate, visited the National May 18 Democratic Cemetery located in Buk-gu, Gwangju, to pay respects. He plans to propose a reflective political alternative for inheriting and developing the spirit of May 18 through an on-site press conference.
Sim Sang-jung, the Justice Party presidential candidate, will attend the launch ceremony of the Youth Justice Party campaign headquarters in the afternoon.
Former Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Kim Dong-yeon will attend the ‘Gyeongnam Provincial Party Founding Convention’ at Nammyung Art Hall in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, and then proceed to the ‘Busan City Party Founding Convention’ at the Busan Democracy Park Small Theater in Jung-gu, Busan at 1 p.m., continuing his party founding schedule.
