[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun]Aekyung Industrial announced on the 28th that it carried out the creation of the Aekyung Lilac Road along Chiseongcheon Stream in Cheongyang-gun, Chungcheongnam-do.
The creation of the Aekyung Lilac Road is part of the 'Chungcheongnam-do Stream Restoration Project,' a joint agreement between Aekyung Industrial, Chungcheongnam-do, and the Dorang Ggakkugi Community. It was conducted with the purpose of creating a water-friendly environment along Chiseongcheon Stream, a waterway located in Cheongyang-gun where the company’s factory and logistics service center are situated.
This year, approximately 220 meters of the Aekyung Lilac Road was planted with 1,500 lilac bushes, 2,500 moss phlox, and 1,000 golden trumpet trees, and combined with the 80 meters created last year, the total length reached 300 meters.
The creation activity was further meaningful as Aekyung Industrial Executive Director Jung Chang-won, Choi Choong-sik, Secretary General of the NGO Water Forum Korea, company employees, and local residents participated together.
The Chungcheongnam-do Stream Restoration Project aims to improve water quality and restore ecological health of streams in the province through stream conservation and ecological restoration, promoting mutual development with local communities. The main activity sites include the main stream of Chiseongcheon and areas such as Yeokchon-ri near Aekyung Industrial’s Cheongyang factory.
