[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The 'Incheon SW (Software) Future Filling Education Festival' opened on the 26th and will welcome visitors through the metaverse platform until the 12th of next month.
With the slogan 'MetaCoding (the beginning of a coding life transcending the future through the metaverse),' which incorporates the latest SW trend of the metaverse, this event is held simultaneously through a YouTube channel and the metaverse platform.
It is a software convergence education festival where citizens can easily and enjoyably experience SW, hosted by Incheon City and the City Office of Education, and organized by Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP).
Now in its third year, the event features 41 diverse SW experience programs, an 'Ideathon' based on Nobel Engineering that finds problems in books and solves them with technology, SW camps and advanced learning for elementary, middle, and high school students, and various programs such as hackathon challenges.
Additionally, 11 talk concerts on topics such as SW, AI (Artificial Intelligence), and the metaverse, which parents and students may be curious about, and an 'OX Quiz Event' where participants can learn about SW and AI through weekly quizzes on various topics and receive gifts, are held at the festival venue within the metaverse platform 'Gather Town.'
Furthermore, another metaverse platform, 'Altspace,' hosts separate exhibitions and events, and the event space 'Incheon Metaport' also showcases SW education-related information, exhibitions, and various events.
Seo Byungjo, Director of Incheon TP, said, "It is a space where youth, parents, and the general public can experience and understand SW more easily." He added, "Especially this year, since it is held through the metaverse, a creative fusion space of reality and virtuality, it will be an opportunity for new experiences."
