Dangnim Art Museum, Cultural Communication Cooperative, and Joshua Also Receive Awards
Yongin Cultural Foundation, Dangrim Art Museum, Cultural Communication Cooperative, and Joshua will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at this year’s Arts Management Awards. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 26th that since September, it had conducted document and presentation evaluations and recognized these four organizations as exemplary cases of arts management. Yongin Cultural Foundation dispatched performing arts professionals to local community stages and auditoriums to inspect cultural facilities and provide easy-to-understand usage instructions. Dangrim Art Museum overcame the threat of closure and established a new identity through a renovation that incorporated distinctiveness and innovation. Cultural Communication Cooperative created a cultural space of harmony by utilizing idle local spaces, and Joshua provided performance opportunities to musicians, discovering young artists.
Chaedongseon Chamber Orchestra will receive the Surim Cultural Foundation Chairman Award. It was highly evaluated for leading a small-scale chamber orchestra with local residents in Boseong, Jeollanam-do, into a systematic arts organization. The Yeokyung Grand Prize goes to Theater Company San, which operated 'Ararichon' with local artists in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do. The awards ceremony will be held on the 26th at the Surim Cultural Foundation Kim Hee-soo Art Center. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official said, "These are arts management cases that have grown organically with local communities despite the difficult environment caused by COVID-19," adding, "We hope they become widely known so that more arts organizations and companies can coexist and prosper."
