LG Uplus Executive Personnel Changes... Promotion of Park Seongyul and Lim Janghyeok to Executive Director

[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] LG Uplus held a board meeting on the afternoon of the 24th and announced on the 25th that it had carried out executive personnel changes for 2022, including the promotion of two executives to Senior Vice President and the appointment of seven new Managing Directors.


This executive personnel change focused on strengthening competitiveness in new business areas, which are future growth engines, and solidifying the foundation of existing businesses to establish a sustainable growth base. In particular, the emphasis was on actively appointing talented individuals capable of leading innovation and change.


Park Seong-yul, Head of Corporate Sales Group 2, and Lim Jang-hyeok, Head of Corporate Infrastructure Business Group, were each promoted to Senior Vice President. The Managing Director promotions include ▲Kang Jin-wook, in charge of MVNO Business ▲Kim Young-jun, in charge of Accounting ▲Kim Hyun-min, in charge of SOHO Business ▲Park Kyung-jung, in charge of CR Policy ▲Oh In-ho, in charge of Consumer Business/Strategy ▲Lee Sang-jin, in charge of Content Business ▲Lee Jin-hyeok, in charge of Mobile Service Development, totaling seven people.


Notably, this personnel change features the new appointment of Managing Director Lee Sang-jin, who was recruited externally as an expert. Managing Director Lee Sang-jin joined LG Uplus last year after working at CJ ENM and HYBE. Leveraging his proven capabilities in successfully executing various content-related businesses, he is expected to contribute to enhancing the content-related competencies essential for LG Uplus to strengthen its competitiveness in the platform business going forward.


LG Uplus explained the purpose of this personnel change, stating, "Our ultimate goal is to leap forward as a ‘digital innovation company leading joyful changes in customers’ daily lives’ by prioritizing customers above all else, providing differentiated value, and thereby creating a virtuous cycle structure that enables continuous growth. Above all, we aimed to appoint talents who prioritize customers and can drive change."
