[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Gwangju Northern Fire Station (Chief Kim Hee-chul) announced on the 24th that it conducted a training session on the 23rd to enhance the on-site response capabilities of fire suppression personnel using firefighting drones at the OB Beer Gwangju Factory.

This training was carried out under the assumption of a widespread fire occurring within the factory, aiming to quickly extinguish the fire through customized on-site response strategies and fire suppression techniques utilizing firefighting drones.

Firefighting drones are a Fourth Industrial Revolution firefighting response system that can be used for rapid assessment of fire and other disaster situations, real-time disaster video transmission, missing person searches, and rescue activities, enabling efficient on-site command and response operations.

The main contents included ▲ confirming the positions of fire trucks and departments according to the set virtual fire point location and water spraying ▲ checking the predicted fire spread route using drones and key firefighting facilities such as hydrants ▲ emergency evacuation training in preparation for explosions, flashovers, and other incidents.

Park Cheong-soon, the on-site response team leader, stated, "Firefighting drones will become the hands and feet of firefighters in more places to ensure rapid on-site response and the safety of personnel," adding, "We will continue to utilize firefighting drones in various training scenarios and actual field activities going forward."
