The second session of the '2021 Content IP Commercialization Consultation' hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency (President Jo Hyun-rae, hereinafter referred to as KOCCA) was successfully held over two days on the 17th and 18th at the Conrad Hotel Park Ballroom in Yeouido.
The '2021 Content IP Commercialization Consultation' is a B2B professional event organized by KOCCA to discover excellent content IPs and support their secondary commercialization. This event was divided into a pitching session introducing content to buyers and a 1:1 business meeting session to explore in-depth business opportunities such as co-production and licensing contracts. Despite the pitching session starting at the somewhat early time of 10:30 AM, buyers fully occupied the seats, demonstrating strong intent to commercialize content IPs.
Additionally, on this day, a contract signing ceremony was held for 'Nabi Club,' which participated in the first session in August. Through this event, 'Nabi Club' signed a video adaptation licensing contract with the video production company IMTV, which produces various broadcast programs such as dramas, movies, and entertainment shows, for two works from the 2035 SF mystery series: 'Oksusubatgwa Hyeong' and 'Gonando Salin.' Furthermore, 'Nabi Club' is also preparing to sign a video adaptation licensing contract with 'Playlist,' a web drama specialized production company, for a 20-episode mystery horror series titled 'Goeihan Mystery.'
Lee Sang-hyun, Executive Vice President of IMTV, stated, "Despite the COVID-19 situation, the business consultation event was smoothly held, allowing us to communicate with the industry and sign a contract with Nabi Club. We look forward to encountering many excellent story IPs through this event in the future."
With the advent of 'With Corona,' this offline event attracted a variety of buyers ranging from major video production companies such as 'Lotte Entertainment,' 'Showbox,' and 'Studio Dragon' to content investment firms like 'Daekyo Investment' and 'Union Investment Partners.' Approximately 145 business meetings were conducted on-site. Meetings that could not be completed on-site are scheduled to continue as office meetings from November 22 to November 30, and additional meetings for contracts are actively underway, so more contract signing news is expected to be delivered in the future.
