Announcement of Preliminary Analysis Results for the CSAT
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education analyzed and announced the preliminary scoring results of the 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) conducted on the 18th.
According to the Gwangju Office of Education on the 23rd, the Gwangju College Admission Directors Council and the Admission Analysis Team analyzed the preliminary CSAT scores based on third-year high school students in the Gwangju area. The Korean language test, which was structured as 'common + elective subjects,' was more difficult compared to last year's CSAT.
Among the common subjects, the reading section included high-level passages on philosophy and economics, resulting in a high perceived difficulty for examinees.
Mathematics was also structured as 'common + elective subjects.' Except for Calculus, which is an elective subject, the difficulty of the other elective subjects generally increased compared to last year's CSAT.
The common subjects were also more challenging than last year's CSAT. Although there were no ultra-high difficulty questions, new types of semi-killer questions were included, causing most questions to take longer to solve overall.
There will be some advantages and disadvantages depending on the choice of mathematics elective subjects, but it is expected that these will decrease compared to the mock exams held in June and September.
English switched to 100% indirect linkage with EBS textbooks starting this year, significantly increasing the perceived difficulty, and it was much harder than last year's CSAT.
Social studies subjects showed some differences between subjects, but overall, they were slightly more difficult or at a similar level compared to last year's CSAT.
In this CSAT, except for World History and World Geography, the cutoff score for the top grade is expected to be in the mid-40s for most subjects.
Science subjects were generally more difficult than last year's CSAT. Except for Physics II and Chemistry II, the cutoff score for the top grade is expected to be below the mid-40s in all subjects.
