LG Uplus Conducts 'Love Package' Sharing Activity with Partners

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 23rd that it held the ‘Love Package Sharing Season 8’ event for elderly people living alone, in collaboration with the partner company council U+ Win-Win Growth Board ahead of the year-end and New Year holidays.

At the event, volunteers including LG Uplus employees, welfare center staff, and partner company employees who are members of the U+ Win-Win Growth Board participated to prepare ‘Love Packages’ containing rice and other food items for elderly people living alone. The Love Packages will be delivered to 870 households of elderly people living alone through the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s commissioned organization, the Comprehensive Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone.

This year’s event was limited to fewer than 50 participants in consideration of COVID-19. Due to increased funds from joint donations by U+ Win-Win Growth Board partner companies, the number of elderly households supported increased by about 270 compared to last year.

The U+ Win-Win Growth Board is a win-win growth council consisting of 29 partner companies of LG Uplus, sharing related systems and implementation details, and serving as a communication bridge between LG Uplus and its partners as well as among the partner companies themselves.

Lee Jung-gil, Vice President of Ubiquoss, the chair company of the U+ Win-Win Growth Board, said, “The annual Love Package Sharing volunteer activity with LG Uplus was a very precious time to feel love and warmth. Especially this year, with many board companies participating, we hope that delivering sincerity to more neighbors will help them have a warm winter.”

Kim Jong-seop, Head of Win-Win Growth and Purchasing at LG Uplus, said, “To practice mutual consideration and expand win-win growth, which is the founding purpose of the Win-Win Growth Board, we conduct the Love Package making and sharing activity every year. Although it is a small gesture, we hope our hearts are conveyed and everyone has a warm winter.”
