'Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship Korea 2021' Held
Research Paper Competition for Science and Engineering Master's and PhD Students... 20 Selected for Research Scholarships
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Qualcomm announced on the 23rd that it held the academic paper competition ‘Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship Korea 2021’ online and selected the final 20 papers to award scholarships.
Held for the second time this year following last year, the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship Korea is an academic paper competition that provides research scholarships to students enrolled in regular master's and doctoral programs. The goal is to encourage talented STEM students with potential to pursue independence and creativity in their research activities and to produce outstanding results. Additionally, it provides a platform for knowledge exchange where participants can communicate with Qualcomm researchers about various ideas and receive advice.
The submitted research papers on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and autonomous driving were evaluated based on comprehensive criteria including innovation and creativity of ideas, understanding of research and experimental results, and potential for further research. Afterwards, the presentations and poster sessions by participants were jointly judged by the judges and participants to select the final 20 teams, and research scholarships were awarded to the affiliated schools of the selected teams.
Hwang Kyu-woong, Executive Director of Qualcomm Korea R&D, said, “I was deeply impressed by the innovative and creative ideas of the many excellent papers submitted to the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship,” and added, “We hope that through the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship, outstanding talents will continue to have opportunities to exchange knowledge.”
