KCGS Evaluation Report Rises to Higher Grade

[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] Dong-A Socio Holdings Group's eco-friendly management efforts are bearing fruit.

Dong-A Socio Holdings Group, including its holding company Dong-A Socio Holdings, prescription drug business company Dong-A ST, and active pharmaceutical ingredient business company ST Pharm, announced on the 23rd that they received improved ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) ratings this year compared to last year, according to the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS).

The ESG evaluation is conducted annually by KCGS since 2011, assessing non-financial aspects such as environment, society, and governance, and assigning grades. The grades are divided into seven levels: S, A+, A, B+, B, C, and D.

The integrated ESG rating for Dong-A Socio Holdings, Dong-A ST, and ST Pharm all improved to an A compared to last year. In the social category, Dong-A Socio Holdings and Dong-A ST received A+, while ST Pharm received an A. In the governance category, all three companies received an A. Notably, there was a significant rise in the environmental category ratings. Dong-A Socio Holdings improved by two levels to B+, and Dong-A ST and ST Pharm jumped three levels from D to B+, placing them in the upper tier.

A representative from Dong-A Socio Holdings stated, "From product development and production to usage, disposal, and recycling, we focus on eco-friendliness throughout the entire business process to contribute to enhancing humanity's sustainability."

Dong-A Socio Holdings has established environmental policies and goals centered around the Environmental Management Committee, forming a response system for key environmental issues such as energy, greenhouse gases, and waste, and is carrying out various activities. To this end, Dong-A Socio Holdings has been conducting the 'Plastic Zero Campaign' since last year. This year, they provided eco-friendly online education to all employees of Dong-A Socio Holdings Group.
