‘Government Innovation 1st Street’ is the official government innovation website operated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to promote and disseminate excellent government innovation cases. Through the ‘Excellent Innovation Case Map,’ it introduces various cases from central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions in the public sector. Among 670 excellent cases from 243 local governments nationwide, Yangcheon-gu has posted 49 innovative cases.

In particular, the ‘Installation of Streetlight-based Electric Vehicle and Personal Mobility Chargers’ project, which is the first in the nation to utilize existing streetlights and on-street parking infrastructure, was recognized as an innovative project that overcame difficulties in site selection. Moreover, the ‘Youth Digital Supporters Project’ and the ‘Online Studio Shared with Other Schools,’ both first initiated by Yangcheon-gu, were honored with two awards: the bronze prize and the encouragement prize, respectively, at the 2021 Ministry of the Interior and Safety Central Excellent Proposal contest.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “I am pleased that the achievements of Yangcheon-type innovation, which changes residents’ daily lives and improves inconveniences, have been recognized.” He added, “We will continue to implement inclusive public services that residents can feel through bold innovation and challenges.”
