[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) announced on the 19th that due to a partial strike related to wage and collective bargaining negotiations, the operations of the Daejeon and Geumsan plants will be suspended for 12 hours a day until 6 a.m. on the 24th.
Hankook Tire operates its plants in a 24-hour, 4-shift system. This partial strike involves a 4-hour stoppage per shift, resulting in a total daily production disruption of 12 hours at the plants.
Previously, Hankook Tire announced that from the 16th to the 19th, the two plants would halt operations for 6 hours a day (2 hours per shift), so the intensity of this additional partial strike has doubled.
