Empty Classrooms Become Hub for Musical Education and Creation

Ministry of Culture and Geumcheon District Office, Geumcheon Musical Center Opens Today

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Geumcheon District Office will open the Geumcheon Musical Center on the 19th. It is a musical-specialized cultural and arts education facility created by renovating part of Gasan Middle School. It will be operated as a place where children, adolescents, and local residents can enjoy and communicate through culture and the arts. This is the first time a musical-specialized cultural and arts education facility has been established in a basic local government. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official said, "We renovated the vacant classrooms of Gasan Middle School, which became available due to a decrease in student numbers, into a four-story building with a total area of 1,614 square meters," adding, "We will nurture professionals in the musical field and run various related programs to develop it as a hub for musical education and creation."
