The 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) began simultaneously at 8:40 a.m. on the 18th across 86 testing districts nationwide. The exam will be conducted until 5:45 p.m. (standard time for general test-takers).

On the morning of the exam day, a parent in their 40s, Mr. Lee, whom we met at Gaepo High School located in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, said, "I hope the students finish well the fruits of their (studying) efforts and calmly take the CSAT." He added, "This is the second year dealing with the COVID-19 situation, but I hope the students show good skills despite the difficult circumstances today."

Another parent, Mr. Kim (52), said, "I hope they get good results that correspond to their efforts so far," emphasizing, "Because of COVID-19, not only my daughter but all the children must have gone through hardships, so I hope everyone gets the good scores they want and can enter good universities." He added, "They have put in a lot of effort for this one day, so I hope they get the results they desire."

Meanwhile, at Gyeongbok High School located in Cheongun-dong, Jongno-gu, some test-takers arrived by police cars or student transport motorcycles. Some students were sprinting in shorts, while others came to the exam site by police car due to oversleeping or other reasons.

Yeouido Girls’ High School in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, had a calm atmosphere. Test-takers who had completed their entry calmly prepared for the exam by solving practice problems.

Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Education, as of midnight on the 16th, there were 101 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 105 self-quarantined individuals among CSAT applicants. Among them, a total of 68 confirmed test-takers expressed their intention to actually take the CSAT.
