No Upset... Odin: Valhalla Rising Wins Korea Game Awards

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Odin: Valhalla Rising, a mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Lionheart Studio and published by Kakao Games, won the Grand Prize and a total of four awards at the '2021 Korea Game Awards.'

At the '2021 Korea Game Awards' held on the 17th at the KNN Theater in Busan, the mobile MMORPG Odin received the Grand Prize, the President's Award. Additionally, the Startup Company Award, Excellent Developer Award, and Graphic Technology Creation Award were also awarded to Odin.

Odin is Lionheart Studio's first title and is set in the world of Norse mythology. It features top-tier mobile graphics and a high degree of freedom.

Immediately after its release, Odin ranked number one in sales on both Google and Apple markets. This marked the first time in four years that Lineage M, which had maintained the top sales position, was dethroned.

Kim Jaeyoung, CEO of Lionheart Studio, expressed, "The game's great success was possible because of everyone who worked together," and added, "I was so moved when the award was announced that I almost cried."

On the same day, the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence went to Devsisters' Cookie Run: Kingdom, and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award for Excellence was given to Npixel's Gran Saga, Studio HG's Metallic Child, and Nimble Neuron's Eternal Return.

Additionally, the Esports Development Award was given to the comprehensive esports company WDZ, and the Social Contribution Award went to Smilegate Megaport. In the Technology Creation Awards, the Planning and Scenario category was awarded to Npixel's Gran Saga, the Sound category to Netmarble's The Second Country, and the Character category to Devsisters' Cookie Run: Kingdom.

The Good Game Award was given to Gemblow's Raon Mobile, and the Game Business Innovation Award went to Wemade's MIR4, while the Popular Game Award was given to Nimble Neuron's Eternal Return, and the Indie Game Award went to IndieCava Interactive's Motae Solo.
