[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actor Hyun Bin is meeting director Woo Min-ho.
Hive Media Corp announced on the 16th, "Hyun Bin has confirmed his appearance in director Woo Min-ho's next work 'Harbin,'" adding, "Filming will begin in 2022."
Director Woo Min-ho, who portrayed the turbulent modern history of Korea on screen through films such as 'Inside Men,' 'The Drug King,' and 'The Man Standing Next,' will present his next work 'Harbin,' a spy action film set in early 1900s Harbin, depicting the story of independence fighters who risked their lives to reclaim their homeland.
In the film, Hyun Bin is expected to portray complex emotions and action scenes, including the loneliness of living in an era when the homeland has disappeared, as well as the anxiety and responsibility at the heart of the life-risking independence movement.
The production company explained that Hyun Bin confirmed his participation in 'Harbin' based on the completeness and entertainment value of the script and his trust in director Woo Min-ho.
The film is produced by Hive Media Corp, known for 'Inside Men,' 'The Man Standing Next,' and 'Deliver Us from Evil,' and will feature domestic staff including cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo, who worked on 'Deliver Us from Evil,' 'Parasite,' and 'Snowpiercer.' It is expected to be a major spy action production spanning Korea, Russia, and China.
