[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 16th that it has built next-generation network infrastructure on LS Group's infrastructure network through the 'U+ SD WAN' service in collaboration with LS ITC.

U+ SD WAN (Software Defined Wide Area Network) is a technology that controls customer infrastructure via software, ensuring quality for each business service and helping to respond to sudden traffic increases. A key feature is the ability to remotely and automatically manage equipment at each branch from a central location.

LS ITC, which operates across affiliates, research institutes, and business sites nationwide, has been promoting the advancement of the group WAN infrastructure to flexibly accommodate surging traffic and efficiently manage the increasingly complex network environment.

Through the adoption of U+ SD WAN, LS Group can guarantee application quality even during peak traffic times aligned with non-face-to-face work trends such as group online kick-off meetings, remote video conferences, and online training. Additionally, the central management and automation functions of the 'SD WAN portal' allow the Seoul headquarters to monitor usage status at regional business sites at a glance.

To enhance the utilization of SD WAN, LG Uplus configured LS ITC's lines in a redundant setup, improving business continuity and availability, and enabling automatic bandwidth expansion of backup lines as needed. Furthermore, the SD WAN equipment integrates virtual private network (VPN) functionality, allowing affiliates using existing VPN security equipment to remove their VPN devices and reduce operational costs.
