[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Kolon announced on the 15th that it recorded sales of 1,342.7 billion KRW and an operating profit of 91.8 billion KRW in the third quarter of this year. Sales increased by 11.4% and operating profit rose by 65.1% compared to the same period last year.
Kolon explained that sales increased due to the expansion of housing and construction projects in the construction division of its subsidiary Kolon Global, as well as increased vehicle sales in the distribution division.
Additionally, Kolon added that operating profit increased as Kolon Global achieved strong performance across all sectors including construction, automotive, and trading, and major affiliates such as Kolon Industries saw continued profit growth in the industrial materials and chemical divisions, improving overall profitability.
