[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Kim Jae-won, Supreme Council Member of the People Power Party, commented on rumors related to the fall accident of Kim Hye-kyung, wife of Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "If it were Candidate Lee, I can imagine that happening."

At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the 15th, Kim said about Ms. Kim's accident, "There are various rumors, but if Candidate Yoon Seok-youl or Candidate Ahn Cheol-soo had assaulted their wives, people would say, 'Where are they talking nonsense again?' but if it is Candidate Lee, people think, 'That could happen.'"

He continued, "This is because the violence Candidate Lee showed when he threw a robot and cursed at his sister-in-law has been projected onto the public."

Kim urged, "I hope the public looks at this incident and reflects on the dignity of the person who will become the leader of our country, the Republic of Korea," and pointed out, "Candidate Lee should also look back on himself and reflect."

Regarding the controversy over Candidate Lee's 'Busan disparagement remarks,' Kim raised his voice, saying, "I have lived in Gangnam for about 20 years, but I don't know if Gangnam is that fun," and asked, "What exactly is Candidate Lee doing in Gangnam?"

He added, "It is a serious mistake to belittle and insult any region by saying it is 'fun' or 'not fun.' I thought the lies would stop if Candidate Lee stopped giving back briefings, but now he makes a blunder every day."

Meanwhile, on the 13th, Candidate Lee met with young startup CEOs at a cafe in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, and said, "Busan is boring, honestly," but then corrected himself, saying, "It's fun, but in some ways, it's not like Gangnam."
