Kang Yong-seok Mentions Private Matters of Kim Bu-seon on Broadcast
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Actress Kim Bu-seon dismissed lawyer Kang Yong-seok, who was representing her in a damages lawsuit against Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, and demanded an apology. In response, former MBC reporter Kim Se-e conveyed Kang's position on his behalf.
On the 14th, former reporter Kim, who runs the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute' (Gaseyeon) with lawyer Kang, posted a video titled "Reasons to Support Actress Kim Bu-seon," relaying Kang's request to "please support Ms. Kim."
Earlier, on the 14th, Kim posted on her Facebook, stating, "Goodbye Kang Yong-seok. It has been terrible until now," announcing her dismissal of the lawyer. The reason for the dismissal appears to be Kang mentioning Kim's private matters during the Gaseyeon live broadcast on the 10th, including physical characteristics of candidate Lee that Kim had previously claimed.
In response, former reporter Kim said, "I have not spoken directly with Ms. Kim, so I am cautious, but when I asked lawyer Kang if it would be better to do a related broadcast, he said, 'It would be good if you could say words supporting actress Kim Bu-seon.'"
He added, "(Lawyer Kang) always keeps his phone on silent, so he usually does not answer my calls either," and said, "It was a mistake. Since it was a mistake, I expect lawyer Kang will also express an apology."
However, former reporter Kim addressed Ms. Kim, saying, "Please correct the statement that it was more terrible than Lee Jae-myung," adding, "Lawyer Kang should not be more terrible than Lee Jae-myung."
Furthermore, former reporter Kim emphasized, "We always keep our promises," and said, "I will say this publicly. We never break our promises, so please trust us unconditionally."
Meanwhile, Ms. Kim claims she was once in a romantic relationship with candidate Lee. However, Lee denies this, and in September 2018, Kim filed a damages lawsuit worth 300 million won, alleging that Lee labeled her as a pathological liar, causing her mental and financial harm.
On the 8th, the 16th Civil Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Presiding Judge Woo Gwan-je) accepted a request from Lee's legal team to change the trial date, postponing the fourth hearing originally scheduled for the 10th to January 5 of next year.
