CJ Freshway Initiates Surrounding Environment Cleanup Through 'Plogging' Activities On the 12th, CJ Freshway employees took a commemorative photo of their 'plogging' volunteer activity around the headquarters located in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ Freshway, a food ingredient distribution and group catering specialist under CJ Group, announced on the 15th that it conducted a "plogging" environmental cleanup volunteer activity over the past month as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management efforts.

Plogging is a compound word combining the Swedish term for "picking up litter" and the English word "jogging," referring to the activity of walking in a designated area while collecting and sorting trash for recycling.

CJ Freshway employees participating in this plogging activity collected approximately 1,500 liters of trash around the company premises by utilizing work and commuting times. The collected waste was disposed of in nearby recycling bins according to the type of recyclable material.

Under the slogan "Cleanway Made by Freshway," about 300 employees took part in this plogging volunteer event. Notably, employees from the headquarters and various regional offices nationwide participated from their respective workplaces, adding significance to the volunteer activity. Additionally, all CJ Freshway executives joined the volunteer work alongside their team members, taking the opportunity to communicate about eco-friendly practices in daily life.

A CJ Freshway representative stated, "We planned this plogging volunteer activity to fulfill our social responsibility as a member of the local community and a company that values eco-friendly management by keeping the surroundings of our nationwide business sites clean. Starting with this, we will continue to develop eco-friendly social contribution activities so that our employees can actively practice ESG management in their daily lives."
