Audi Unveils First Compact Electric SUV 'Q4 e-tron' in Korea for the First Time

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Audi Volkswagen Korea announced on the 12th that it will unveil the Audi brand's first compact electric sports utility vehicle (SUV), the Q4 e-tron, for the first time in Korea. The Q4 e-tron is scheduled to be released domestically next year.

The Q4 e-tron is available with two battery options, 55 kWh and 82 kWh, and three driving versions: entry, mid-range, and top-tier models. The Q4 35 e-tron is equipped with a 55 kWh battery and delivers an output of 125 kW (170 horsepower). The Q4 40 e-tron comes with an 82 kWh battery, providing a maximum output of 150 kW (204 horsepower), and can travel up to 520 km on a single charge based on WLTP standards.

The top version, Q4 50 e-tron, features two electric motors supporting electric all-wheel drive, delivering a maximum output of 220 kW (299 horsepower). It takes 6.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, with a top speed of 180 km/h.

The Q4 e-tron's battery supports both slow (AC) and fast (DC) charging. For the Q4 40 e-tron model, just 10 minutes of charging enables driving approximately 130 km according to WLTP standards.

The Q4 e-tron realizes the body lines of the concept car introduced in 2019 in its production model. It features a short front overhang, large wheels, a muscular body, and finely defined, clear lines that create a smooth silhouette. Additionally, optional matrix LED headlights enhance visibility, and the world's first switchable digital light signature is applied, allowing users to select according to their preference.

Due to the nature of electric vehicles, the center tunnel inside is removed, providing ample legroom and storage space for both front and rear seats. A 10.25-inch display is standard, and a newly introduced steering wheel with a smooth touch surface allows control of the digital instrument cluster.

For driving convenience and enjoyment, the Q4 e-tron is equipped with Adaptive Cruise Assist, Surround View Camera, Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, Intelligent e-tron Route Planner, and Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus. Furthermore, the Sonos sound system is introduced, offering a new premium sound experience.

Meanwhile, Audi produces the Q4 e-tron in a carbon-neutral manner. The Zwickau plant in Germany uses eco-friendly electricity, and battery cell suppliers use only green electricity in their production processes. The company explains that unavoidable CO2 emissions at this stage are offset through climate protection projects certified by TUV.
