[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] The People Power Party is launching the 'Kraken' program to counter comment manipulation ahead of the presidential election. This is the first 'Silk Pouch' given by Representative Lee Jun-seok to presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol. Earlier, on the 8th, Representative Lee handed over a physical silk pouch containing election secrets to candidate Yoon.
On the 11th, Representative Lee announced this on Facebook, saying, "This is an essential element during the election, and Representative Lee Young and the Digital Party Committee members have been carefully preparing it while maintaining security until now. Since it came out first in order, it became Silk Pouch number 1."
The Kraken is a mythical sea monster, named to target the 'King Crab' comment manipulation program used by the 'Druking' group. It signifies a monster that devours the King Crab, reflecting the intention to prevent public opinion manipulation. The production was led by the Digital Party Committee headed by Representative Lee Young, known as an IT expert.
The People Power Party plans to activate the Kraken program starting on the 14th. Kraken will operate targeting portal sites and social networks (SNS), with artificial intelligence (AI) and monitoring personnel deployed simultaneously. It analyzes whether there are movements of comment manipulation and reports suspicious signs to the Central Election Commission.
Regarding this, Representative Lee explained, "It is our online THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) against the ruling party that repeatedly manipulates public opinion across the internet."
