Doosan Wins 7 CES 2022 Innovation Awards for New Technologies Including Hydrogen, Drones, and Robots

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Doosan announced on the 11th that seven products and technologies received Innovation Awards at 'CES 2022,' the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition held in early January next year in Las Vegas, USA.

Doosan explained that the seven products and technologies selected for the 'CES 2022 Innovation Awards' announced that day include ▲hydrogen fuel cell system 'TriGen' ▲waste plastic hydrogenation technology ▲solar power plant inspection solution using hydrogen drones ▲vertical takeoff and landing fixed-wing hydrogen drone ‘DJ25’ ▲fully electric loader 'T7X' ▲PFC (Patterned Flat Cable) ▲camera robot. The CES Innovation Awards are given by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which organizes the exhibition, to innovative technologies and products leading the world.

Most of the products and technologies awarded to Doosan affiliates this time are in the field of hydrogen utilization. TriGen from Doosan Fuel Cell, which won the Innovation Award, is a product that can simultaneously produce hydrogen, electricity, and heat in the required amounts at the point of use, and Doosan Heavy Industries introduced technology that produces hydrogen by pyrolyzing discarded waste plastic.

Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) won two awards with its hydrogen drone products. It received Innovation Awards for a solution that can inspect hundreds of thousands of solar panels through more than two hours of automatic flight over a solar complex of about 20,000 pyeong and for the DJ25, a fixed-wing vertical takeoff and landing drone in the form of an airplane that can fly for more than 5 hours and 30 minutes and cover a distance of 500 km by significantly extending flight range.

Doosan Bobcat's fully electric compact track loader T7X is an eco-friendly product that maximizes energy efficiency by removing the hydraulic system and electrifying all driving parts, unlike existing electric heavy equipment that only converts internal combustion engines such as engines to electric. PFC, introduced by Doosan Electronics BG, is a connecting material combining the advantages of copper wire and flexible printed circuit board (FPCB), which is thin and light while allowing the cable length to be extended as desired. When applied to electric vehicle batteries, it can reduce the weight of copper wire by more than 80%, improving driving range. Both products were developed by Doosan as world firsts.

Finally, Doosan Robotics developed a camera robot that allows anyone to create professional-level content even without experience in robotics or filming, and was selected for the Innovation Award. Unlike existing camera systems using industrial robots, it features a compact size and safety functions that allow it to work alongside humans.

A Doosan official said, "We received a meaningful award with eco-friendly future technology on the global stage of innovative technology competition," adding, "We expect Doosan's newly introduced future technologies to be well received in the global market."
