Kakao Enterprise Achieves International Security Certification 'CSA STAR' Gold Level

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Kakao Enterprise announced on the 11th that its integrated work platform ‘Kakao Work’ and cloud service ‘Kakao i Cloud’ have obtained the highest grade, 'Gold,' in the international standard cloud security certification ‘CSA STAR (CSA Security, Trust & Assurance Registry).’

CSA STAR is a cloud security certification audit jointly evaluated by the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) in the United States. Scores are measured based on compliance with control items and the Maturity Model methodology, awarding four grades (No, Bronze, Silver, Gold).

‘Kakao Work’ and ‘Kakao i Cloud’ passed the initial audit in June last year and subsequently obtained the Silver grade in May and the Gold grade in October this year.

Obtaining the Gold grade exempts financial companies from the basic protection measures check required in the ‘Financial Security Institute Cloud Safety Assessment’ when adopting cloud services. This will simplify the adoption process for financial sector companies when implementing Kakao Enterprise’s cloud services in the future.

A Kakao Enterprise representative stated, "We will continuously maintain and manage world-class security levels to ensure that we receive high security recognition in annual follow-up audits."
