[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Jinro Career Experience Support Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (hereinafter Seo-gu Jinro Center) successfully concluded the ‘Idea War’ competition held on the 6th for high school clubs in the district.
According to Seo-gu Jinro Center on the 10th, this competition, held for the first time this year, is a contest where high school clubs interested in IT combine 4th industrial revolution technologies to create and present prototype ideas aimed at solving social issues and daily inconveniences perceived by youth.
The competition was hosted by Seo-gu Jinro Center and sponsored by Seo-gu Office, Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Research and Information Service, Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training, Gwangju 4th Industrial Convergence Association, and high schools in Seo-gu.
Seven clubs from four high schools in Seo-gu?Daedong High School, Seoseok High School, Jeonnam High School, and Pungam High School?participated, but two clubs presented via real-time non-face-to-face due to COVID-19 self-quarantine on the day of the competition.
The judging panel consisted of experts in the 4th industrial revolution and youth-related organizations who evaluated PPTs, presentations, prototypes, and the ability to respond to questions.
As a result, Daedong High School’s Confident club won the Superintendent’s Award for their ‘Boijong’ project designed for the hearing impaired.
Jeonnam High School’s Software Solution club’s ‘Inter-floor Noise Recording Device’ and Pungam High School’s Pungyomi club’s ‘Cafeteria Application’ won the Seo-gu Office Mayor’s Award and the Education Research Information Service Director’s Award, respectively.
A representative of Seo-gu Jinro Center said, “This was a meaningful competition where youth acquired practical 4th industrial revolution technologies and gained diverse experiences such as direct production, utilization, and demonstration. We will continue to do our best to help Gwangju’s youth grow into talents who will lead the 4th industrial revolution era.”
