Kim Yong-moon, Head of the Startup Promotion Agency, Visits ConTech Companies..."Expansion of TIPS Support Scale"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Kim Yong-moon, President of the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, visited the Con-tech company 'Meisa' located in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the 9th to encourage the company and listen to voices from the field.

Con-tech is a compound word of Construction and Technology. It refers to applying advanced technologies of the 4th industrial revolution to offline construction sites to improve productivity.

Meisa provides an integrated service combining a drone control application, drone image analysis engine, and a construction drone data platform.

Kim Young-hoon, CEO of Meisa, recently signed a contract to acquire a 20% stake for new technology development with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI). He stated, "We plan to challenge various industries by combining satellite technology."

CEO Kim said, "Being selected for the TIPS program in the early startup stage and subsequently receiving support for moving into TIPS Town greatly helped our growth," adding, "Next year, we will challenge the Post-TIPS program, which provides follow-up support of up to 500 million KRW for TIPS graduate companies."

Lee Jung-hoon, CEO of Kingsley Ventures, a TIPS operator that discovered and invested in Meisa, suggested, "As the number of TIPS-supported companies increases, it would be good to expand the scale of Post-TIPS supported companies as well."

In response, President Kim Yong-moon explained, "Next year, we plan to expand the selection scale of TIPS (R&D) from 400 to 500 companies and Post-TIPS from 40 to 50 companies to enable companies with excellent technology like Meisa to achieve innovative growth."

He continued, "We will continue to strive to be a successful partner with startup companies so that startups can grow into global companies."
