[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] The 'Seoul Cafe Show,' celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, opens on the 10th.
Held at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, from the 10th to the 13th, the Seoul Cafe Show features 625 companies from 30 countries and over 3,000 brands.
To mark its 20th anniversary, Seoul Cafe Show specially planned the 'Trend Unpack Show 2022' showcase to present new products from participating companies. Additionally, a hybrid online-offline event such as the 'Online Tour,' where six influencers including barista Park Seungkyu and Cupping Post vividly deliver the exhibition site experience, has been prepared.
Seoul Cafe Show annually conducts the eco-friendly campaign 'Thank You, Coffee,' distributing eco-friendly tasting cups in collaboration with the eco-friendly container and packaging brand 'Neofore.' These tasting cups completely decompose and compost after 10 weeks. Furthermore, the existing vinyl material covers and entry badges have been replaced with paper badges that can be used as frames, and the badge lanyards can be used as mask straps to minimize on-site waste.
The roastery joint pavilion 'Coffee Alley' was planned to widely promote specialty coffee culture and to nurture and introduce domestic roastery cafes. A total of 32 global brands participate, including Arabout, which exclusively introduces New York's Say Coffee specialty coffee to Korea, and Dye Coffee, a coffee showroom utilizing various colors.
The 10th World Coffee Leaders Forum, where global coffee industry leaders participate to analyze coffee market trends and discuss the sustainability of the coffee industry, will be held under the theme 'Refocus, Revive, Reboot ? Turning Crisis into Opportunity: The Post-COVID Era Coffee Market.'
In addition, the Seoul Cafe Show features a 20th-anniversary special exhibition hall composed of various participatory programs such as a cup tower sculpture made from cups donated by 100 Seoul Cafe Show visitors, the Australian guest country pavilion, 'Cherry's Choice' where popular and new products from the coffee industry can be found in one place, the Korea-ASEAN Pavilion to experience food and beverage cultures from 10 ASEAN countries including Singapore and Thailand, and the world's first online-offline crossover competition, the 'World Coffee Battle.'
