Geunbon Co., Ltd. receives Series A investment from S Food Co., Ltd... Official product launch underway

S Food Co., Ltd., a Meat Processing Specialist Company, Makes Investment

Geunbon Co., Ltd. announced that it has attracted Series A investment from Ess Food Co., Ltd., a meat processing specialist company. Geunbon is an HMR (Home Meal Replacement) specialized startup founded with the vision of "providing the world's gourmet food as it is locally, conveniently."

Founded by product planning and marketing expert CEO Ha Ju-young, Geunbon started with seed investment from AI Angel Club in 2019, followed by funding from Korea Venture Investment, and has now secured Series A investment. Through this investment, the company plans to officially launch its pending products and actively recruit talent through open hiring.

Geunbon's gourmet list includes over 60 dishes such as American dining, contemporary Japanese cuisine, Mediterranean dishes, and fusion Korean food, which are awaiting release through restaurant collaborations and its own private brand (PB) method.

Ess Food Co., Ltd. CEO Cho Sung-soo, who led this investment, said, "Food, which best embodies the culture and history of each country, is truly a wonderful journey in times like these. We are pleased to invest in a team that strives to create high-quality products through deep consideration."

Geunbon CEO Ha Ju-young said, "I worked at LG Electronics and Disney, traveling to over 30 countries. The local gourmet lists I recorded during my travels have now led to this business." He added, "We research the food cultures of various countries with local chefs and staff, and select partners and menus based on six strictly established self-evaluation criteria."

Meanwhile, in December last year, Geunbon released three Italian dishes including Neapolitan lasagna developed with Chef Biagio of the Garosugil restaurant 'Il Muretto' and broadcaster Alberto, as well as curry ready meals developed with the 'Lucky India' restaurant located in Seogyo-dong.
