[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Sim Sang-jung, the Justice Party presidential candidate, claimed on the 4th that the Democratic Party of Korea and presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung "do not have the qualification to talk about a major real estate reform."
At a press conference held at the Daegu YMCA 100th Anniversary Hall, candidate Sim stated, "The Moon Jae-in administration, the Democratic Party government, has revealed itself to be an incompetent government regarding real estate to the whole world."
Candidate Sim also mentioned, "Among all past administrations, it was the government that raised housing prices the most and produced many multi-homeowners."
He added, "The public will not believe in (a major real estate reform) because power was given, but the real estate policy failed and showed the most incompetent appearance."
He continued, "Candidate Lee Jae-myung, as the mayor of Seongnam, had the responsibility to supervise the Daejang-dong project, yet an unprecedented level of private favoritism occurred," emphasizing, "The public will be very skeptical about whether this candidate can curb real estate speculation."
He also mentioned the presidential candidates from the People Power Party.
Candidate Sim said, "Whether candidate Yoon Seok-youl or candidate Hong Joon-pyo comes out as the main opponent in the presidential election, thank you."
He claimed, "The relationship between these two is between harsh words and outrageous remarks. Candidate Yoon has repeatedly made gaffes, and the repetition of these gaffes is ultimately a matter of perception, and these outrageous remarks by candidate Yoon actually helped candidate Hong."
Regarding the possibility of alliance or unification with the Democratic Party or the third zone, he said, "The historical effectiveness of unification has ended," and "The Democratic Party is no longer a reform party."
He added, "The Moon Jae-in government started as a candlelight government, but in the recent by-elections, the public evaluated it as 'double standards politics,' and the reform train called the Democratic Party has derailed."
Meanwhile, as regional pledges, he proposed a green creative city, green transition of the automobile parts industry, introduction of electric public transportation, expansion of urban parks, adoption of a four-day workweek for local venture companies, and establishment of the Daegu Second Medical Center.
