[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Ahn Sang-soo, co-chairman of the campaign for Hong Jun-pyo, a presidential pre-candidate of the People Power Party, appealed for support for Hong, saying there are too many risk factors in choosing Yoon Seok-yeol, a candidate from the same party.

On the 29th, Ahn appeared on KBS Radio's "Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs" and explained the background of his joining Hong's campaign after running in the presidential primary, saying, "On the night of October 10, when Lee Jae-myung was elected as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, Hong Jun-pyo called me saying 'Please help a little,'" and added, "I joined Hong's campaign because I thought only Hong Jun-pyo could defeat Lee Jae-myung."

Ahn explained the reason he judged that Hong could defeat Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, by saying, "Yoon Seok-yeol is also a good candidate, but Kim Man-bae's sister, the key figure in the Daejang-dong incident, purchased the residence of Yoon Seok-yeol's father," and added, "If by any chance, just before the election in March next year, Kim Man-bae lies and says, 'Ah, actually I told my sister to buy it, I gave some bribe money, we wrote a down contract,' or something like that, it would be a complete disaster."

He continued, "Such things happened twice during the time of presidential candidate Lee Hoi-chang," and added, "There was also the Kim Dae-yeop incident, and a construction company called OO Construction falsely claimed to have given money, so the election was ruined and those people were arrested. What good is it if they are arrested after the election is ruined?"

Ahn emphasized that Hong Jun-pyo should be the People Power Party's presidential candidate, saying, "The Democratic Party has money and information power, and there is a high possibility that the ruling party will plot such operations. It is important to preemptively block such probabilities," and added, "Hong Jun-pyo was verified five years ago and only has a reckless speech frame. Lee Jae-myung has a double speech frame, so he cannot speak carelessly."
