BioX, KTL Performance Results Show Green Hydrogen Purity at "World's Best Level"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] BioX has verified the world-class performance of green hydrogen produced from food waste water in a laboratory at Ewha Womans University through the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), the only public comprehensive testing and certification institution in Korea.


On the 29th, BioX announced that it received a test report from KTL confirming a green hydrogen purity of over 91% and a production yield of 15L/L-Day (hydrogen production rate), among other performance results.


The test covered two main items: hydrogen concentration and hydrogen production rate. For this test, the HAAMA system (domestic trademark registration TF210140), a high-purity green hydrogen energy generation system, was continuously operated in a stable state for more than 30 days.


As a result, the pre-refinement green hydrogen purity was verified at 91%, confirming the world’s highest level of biohydrogen purity, and the production yield was confirmed at 15L/L-Day, the highest level of biohydrogen production speed in Korea.


Based on these test results, BioX expects to gain momentum for the green hydrogen generation demonstration project scheduled for November at the livestock manure and food waste water energy facility in Icheon City.


The demonstration project in Icheon will start with a capacity to process 0.5 tons per day and plans to expand to a capacity of 2 tons by parallel stacking.


A company official stated, “Since the performance of green hydrogen has been recognized by the only public comprehensive testing and certification institution under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, we will be able to accelerate commercialization,” adding, “Recently, the government declared its leap to become a hydrogen-leading country and is promoting the hydrogen industry as a core future strategy, so synergy is expected.”


He continued, “In particular, as the government plans to produce 2 million tons of blue hydrogen and 3 million tons of green hydrogen respectively to achieve 100% clean hydrogen transition, BioX’s high-purity green hydrogen generation technology will contribute to national competitiveness.”
