Gwangju Seo-gu Provides Free Flu Vaccinations for Vulnerable Groups

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 28th that it will provide free flu vaccinations for vulnerable groups for one month starting next month in preparation for the winter flu season.

The free vaccination targets vulnerable groups aged 50 to 64 (born between 1957 and 1971) who are disabled, medical aid recipients, or national veterans with registered residence in Seo-gu, with approximately 6,500 eligible individuals.

Vaccinations will be administered at 37 designated medical institutions within Seo-gu throughout next month. Vaccination sites can be found on the Seo-gu Office or Seo-gu Public Health Center websites, or by contacting the Seo-gu Vaccination Call Center.

Since this vaccination campaign is conducted alongside COVID-19 vaccinations and the number of vaccinations per medical institution is limited, it is essential to confirm availability before visiting a medical institution.

Mayor Seo Dae-seok stated, “We expect the free vaccination for vulnerable groups to greatly help prevent the winter flu,” and added, “Considering that the flu season lasts until April of the following year, please make sure to complete your vaccination within the period.”
