Event Held Every 2 Years to Promote Lifelong Learning and International Cooperation
Yoo Eun-hye: "Let Us Renew Our Commitment to Lifelong Learning and Gather Wisdom for a New Leap"
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye will attend the opening ceremony of the "5th UNESCO International Conference on Learning Cities (ICLC)" held on the 28th at Songdo Convensia in Incheon.
Hosted by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) and organized by Yeonsu District Office of Incheon, this event will be held for four days from the 27th to the 30th under the theme "Beyond Response to New Leap - Building Healthy and Resilient Cities through Learning."
The "UNESCO International Conference on Learning Cities (ICLC)" is an international event held every two years since 2013 to promote international efforts and cooperation for lifelong learning enhancement within local communities.
At this 5th conference, representatives of learning cities from around the world and domestic and international figures will discuss the roles and challenges of lifelong learning for the health and recovery of urban communities.
In her welcoming remarks, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye said to the representatives of learning cities worldwide, "I hope this event will strengthen our commitment and gather wisdom for a new leap in lifelong learning," adding, "The Ministry of Education will also devote special attention and effort to creating a stable and sustainable lifelong learning environment."
