Homeplus Expands Eco-Friendly Daily Necessities... "Reducing Unnecessary Packaging"

Homeplus Expands Eco-Friendly Daily Necessities... "Reducing Unnecessary Packaging" Homeplus has expanded the range of eco-friendly products to include daily necessities and changed all multi-outlet products to packaging that is convenient for recycling.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Homeplus announced on the 28th that it has expanded the range of eco-friendly products to daily necessities and changed all multi-outlet products to packaging that is easy to recycle.

The newly changed packaging has reduced the size of the packaging materials by more than 50% compared to before, reducing unnecessary use. In addition, transparent PET material without dyeing, printing, or adhesives was used to make recycling and separate disposal easier.

Homeplus currently applies an 'Easy Peel' label with perforations and water-soluble adhesive on 28 types of Signature beverages, allowing the label to be easily separated from the container. In line with the mandatory separate disposal of transparent PET bottles, the range of label-free products is also being expanded. Going forward, Homeplus plans to focus on eco-friendly packaging that reduces plastic use and unnecessary waste from the product development stage.

A Homeplus official said, “Through the packaging transition of this multi-outlet product, we have been able to participate in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management,” adding, “We will continue activities such as expanding eco-friendly products that reduce unnecessary packaging use, creating a large supermarket where customers can also participate in eco-friendliness simply through consumption.”
