Urging the Era of Sejong National Assembly and Yeouido Bio-Fintech Hub


[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Members of the National Assembly and local government heads from Sejong Special Self-Governing City and Yeongdeungpo District have joined forces to usher in the Sejong National Assembly era and establish a bio-fintech lab in Yeouido.


Kim Min-seok, Chairman of the National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee (Seoul Yeongdeungpo-gu Eul), Song Jae-ho, Member of the National Assembly (Jeju-si Gap, Democratic Party Special Committee on National Balanced Development Chairman), Hong Sung-kook, Member of the National Assembly (Sejong Special Self-Governing City Gap), Kang Jun-hyun, Member of the National Assembly (Sejong Special Self-Governing City Eul), Lee Chun-hee, Mayor of Sejong Special Self-Governing City, and Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, held a joint press conference at 2:20 p.m. on the 27th at the National Assembly Press Hall to declare and urge the opening of the ‘23rd Sejong National Assembly Era’ and the ‘Yeouido Bio-Fintech Hub Era.’


The main points include ▲early completion of the Sejong Assembly Hall as the world’s best digital National Assembly and opening the Sejong National Assembly era with the inauguration of the 23rd National Assembly ▲transforming the Yeouido Assembly Hall into a fintech and bio lab after a phased relocation to the Sejong Assembly Hall.


To this end, the attendees agreed to work together by conducting signature campaigns involving members of the National Assembly, local councilors, local government heads, and the public, as well as promoting the adoption of these pledges by presidential candidates from both ruling and opposition parties.


Kim Min-seok, Chairman of the Health and Welfare Committee, stated, “The Sejong National Assembly era will be a historic milestone advancing national balanced development,” adding, “Through selection and concentration, we will do our best to make Yeongdeungpo and Sejong representative cities of the Republic of Korea.”


Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, said, “Building the Sejong National Assembly and Yeouido Bio-Fintech Hub by leveraging the strengths of each city is a big deal that will be recorded in the history of the Republic of Korea,” and added, “We will continue to cooperate to meet the concerns and expectations of local residents.”
