Kookmin Bank Opens New KB Star Banking Service... Launch Event Held to Celebrate Revamp

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 27th that it has launched the new KB Star Banking service.

This launch was carried out with a focus on a customized service for the ‘customer (me)’ in all aspects including app access and usage. The main directions of change are ▲ simpler and easier ▲ faster and safer ▲ only the information I need ▲ differentiated and specialized KB asset management ▲ beyond finance to the world with KB Star Banking. Based on this, the strategy is to provide customers with the best customized service.

On the home screen, users can set a representative account, allowing them to register their desired accounts for quick balance checks and transfers. Account registration supports up to five accounts, including not only KB Kookmin Bank products but also accounts from other banks, securities firms, and savings banks. Additionally, when entering transfer details, the app automatically switches to the next transaction screen without requiring a separate press of the proceed button, enhancing convenience.

By using the auto-login feature, the login process can be skipped. When the app is launched, it runs with just an icon touch without a separate authentication step, allowing users to start desired transactions quickly and conveniently. To enhance login security, a ‘Hide Pattern Line’ feature has been newly added when using the KB Mobile Certificate.

Useful financial content that customers can enjoy has been newly introduced, and about 170 notification services are provided without separate app downloads by adding new notification content to the existing 130+ alerts offered in KB Star Alerts.

A customer-centered proposal-type customized asset management service called ‘My Asset Management’ has been newly established. The feature of My Asset Management is that it is based on extensive customer data including not only bank assets but also assets from other financial companies and non-financial assets. It utilizes transaction information from other financial sectors such as securities and insurance, as well as non-financial asset information like real estate and automobiles, to diagnose customers’ assets more accurately.

As an extended comprehensive financial platform serving as the hub of KB Financial Group, it provides total financial services to customers. Users can access core services from six KB Financial Group affiliates, including KB Securities’ ‘Easy Stock Trading’ service, KB Kookmin Card’s ‘KB Pay Easy Payment,’ and KB Insurance’s ‘Smart Insurance Claim.’

Meanwhile, KB Kookmin Bank is holding the ‘Kookmin One-Pick’ event until November 30 to celebrate the revamp. The event targets customers who agree to push notifications after updating KB Star Banking. To apply, customers check the service details and prize draw, then select the ‘most anticipated new service’ to enter. Prizes include: ▲ Genesis G80 for 1 person who selects ‘Customized Notification Service’ ▲ LG OLED EVO 65-inch for 10 people who select ‘Auto-login Service’ ▲ iPad Pro 5th generation for 30 people who select ‘KB Financial Group Integrated Service’ ▲ Starbucks coupons for 100,000 people who select ‘Asset Management Integrated Service.’

The new KB Star Banking can be used by updating the existing app. When logging into the existing KB Star Banking, a pop-up announcing the new KB Star Banking release appears, and clicking it directs Android users to the ‘Play Store’ and iOS users to the ‘App Store’ for updating.

A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, “We plan to introduce the new KB Star Banking service to customers through weekly relay-style events,” adding, “We ask for much interest in the advanced services of KB Star Banking, which has evolved into the number one comprehensive financial platform beyond finance.”
