'Smart Jikimi2' Device Installment Payment Discount Offered

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] KB Kookmin Card is launching an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) specialized product linked with SK Telecom's safety care service for socially vulnerable groups, 'Smart Jikimi2.'
KB Kookmin Card announced on the 27th that it held a launch ceremony for the ESG specialized product 'KB Kookmin Smart Jikimi Card' in collaboration with SK Telecom.
This card offers benefits such as a refund discount on installment payments for the Smart Jikimi2 device if the previous month's spending exceeds 500,000 KRW, as well as up to 30,000 KRW monthly discounts on communication fees, taxi and UT automatic payments, and usage at hospitals, pharmacies, delivery apps, and large supermarkets.
The Smart Jikimi2 service targets socially vulnerable groups such as dementia patients, people with developmental disabilities, and children, providing functions for preventing disappearance and managing risk situations, including accurate location and movement path tracking, health information monitoring such as heart rate, fall risk detection, and automatic SOS calls in emergencies. SK Telecom offers this service by combining wireless mobile communication networks and Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the form of a wristwatch-type wireless location tracker (Smart Tracker).
Customers who purchase the SK Telecom Smart Jikimi2 device through designated purchase channels under a 24-month installment plan can receive a fixed monthly discount of up to 10,000 KRW on their card payment amount depending on the previous month's spending. If the previous month's spending is ▲ 500,000 KRW or more, a 5,000 KRW monthly discount is provided ▲ 1,000,000 KRW or more, a 10,000 KRW monthly discount is provided during the device installment period.
If the card is used for automatic payment of communication fees such as mobile phone, landline, and internet bundled products from SK Telecom and KB Kookmin Bank's Livem, a 10% discount benefit is also provided. The discount is up to 3,000 KRW per month for previous month spending of 500,000 KRW or more, and up to 5,000 KRW per month for 1,000,000 KRW or more.
Additionally, when using the card for taxi services and UT automatic payments, a 5% discount on the payment amount is provided within a maximum of 5,000 KRW per month depending on the previous month's spending. For four sectors?hospitals, pharmacies, delivery apps (Baedal Minjok, Yogiyo, Coupang Eats), and large supermarkets (Emart, Lotte Mart, Homeplus)?a 5% discount of up to 10,000 KRW per month is offered based on the previous month's spending.
The annual fee is 15,000 KRW. If issued as a mobile-only card registered on a smartphone, the fee is 9,000 KRW.
A KB Kookmin Card official said, "The newly introduced product is expected to contribute to reducing various social costs necessary for caring for vulnerable groups," adding, "We plan to continuously introduce ESG specialized products containing benefits and services for socially vulnerable groups through collaboration with various partners as well as utilizing digital technology."
