[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Soldiers find the phrase "The military has become easier these days" to be the most unpleasant thing to hear while on leave, according to a survey.


On the 27th, the National Public Relations Agency announced that out of 852 soldiers surveyed in the Military Life Chart, 137 respondents, accounting for 16% of the total, answered this way. Following that were "When are you returning?" (9.6%), "You're already out?" (8.2%), and "Out again?" (7.5%) in order. Other phrases included "When is your discharge?", "You've gained weight," as well as slang terms referring to new recruits, which were also ranked.


On the other hand, the phrase soldiers most want to hear in the survey was "Thank you for your hard work," with the highest response rate of 38.7% (330 people).


The place soldiers most want to visit during leave was "home." The sea (11%), resorts (8.2%), and Jeju Island (5.9%) followed. Additionally, the top activity soldiers wanted to do during leave was "hobbies and leisure activities," with many soldiers stating, "I want to fully enjoy my own hobbies and leisure activities during leave that I cannot do in the unit."

The Military Life Chart survey was conducted from the 23rd of last month to the 15th of this month and is conducted monthly. This survey was conducted on the theme of leave using an open-ended questionnaire method, and the survey results will be posted in the Defense Daily newspaper, online homepage, and SNS card news, among others.
