"34-Year-Old Young Father with 22-Month-Old Baby Declared Brain Dead After Pfizer Vaccination" Cheong Petition

"Something we never imagined happened to our family... Please promptly identify the cause"

[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Amid a series of Blue House public petitions demanding a thorough investigation into various side effects occurring after COVID-19 vaccination, a new petition has been posted claiming that a man in his 30s went into brain death after receiving the Pfizer vaccine.

On the 26th, a petition titled "A 34-year-old young father went into brain death after the first Pfizer vaccination. We want the cause of death to be clarified" was posted on the Blue House public petition board. As of 9 a.m., the petition had received over 3,060 endorsements.

The petitioner, who identified himself as the deceased victim’s maternal uncle, began by saying, "My 34-year-old nephew was diagnosed brain dead due to cerebral hemorrhage one day after the first Pfizer vaccination and passed away."

According to the petitioner, the nephew, Mr. A, received his first Pfizer vaccine dose on the 22nd. At that time, there were no abnormal reactions, and on the following day, the 23rd, he lived normally, having lunch with his family. However, around 7 p.m. on the 24th, Mr. A collapsed complaining of numbness in his left arm and headache, and was eventually transported to a nearby hospital.

The petitioner stated, "My nephew had already arrived at the hospital in a brain-dead state. A detailed examination was conducted, but the brain pressure was so high that the MRI contrast agent could not penetrate," adding, "The hospital said, 'It might not be unrelated to the vaccine side effects,' but they said the cause of death can only be determined through an autopsy," expressing his frustration.

He also expressed anger, saying, "My nephew who was diagnosed brain dead has a 22-month-old baby. I don’t know how to cope when I see all the many vaccines and injections the child will have to receive as he grows up."

Furthermore, he lamented, "While the death of my younger nephew is a problem, my 36-year-old older nephew was vaccinated in August and was hospitalized in early October with the same symptoms as my younger nephew," adding, "He was discharged but was admitted again in mid-October for a second examination and treatment."

He raised his voice, saying, "After seeing numerous reports and news about side effects, what I never thought would happen happened to my family, and now I doubt the rationality of the current quarantine policies," and urged, "I hope the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and the government will promptly clarify the cause of death."

Meanwhile, according to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team, since the start of vaccinations in Korea on February 26 this year, there have been a cumulative 339,002 suspected adverse reaction reports (including 815 deaths). Compared to the cumulative number of vaccinations as of midnight on the 25th (75,308,637 doses), this accounts for about 0.45%.
