Customers aged 14 to 18 can apply via Shinhan Play and Shinhan Sol
Issuance of card plates as well as smartphone app payments available
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] A rechargeable pay service that teenagers can freely use both online and offline has been launched.
Shinhan Card and Shinhan Bank announced on the 27th that they have launched 'Shinhan Meme,' a prepaid electronic payment method that teenage customers can easily issue and use without a separate payment account.
Shinhan Meme can be applied for by teenagers aged 14 to 18 through Shinhan Play and Shinhan Sol, and it is issued immediately upon application, allowing immediate use once charged.
Shinhan Meme customers can conveniently use simple payments with the Shake & Slide feature, which automatically processes payments by shaking their smartphones in Shinhan Play. Additionally, a card plate is also issued, allowing free use offline. The plates are designed with four trendy styles reflecting teenagers' sensibilities: Metaverse, Sticker, Ghost, and Flexspace.
Shinhan Meme offers a special 5% My Shinhan Points accumulation on usage amounts at convenience stores frequently used by teenagers (GS25, CU, Seven Eleven, Emart24), music streaming services (Bugs, Melon, Genie, FLO), and app markets (Google Play, Apple App Store, One Store), and a basic 0.1% accumulation at all affiliated stores. Shinhan Meme charging amounts can be transferred without fees via Shinhan Play and Shinhan Sol, and various other services for teenagers, such as mobile youth transportation cards, are also provided.
Shinhan Card and Shinhan Bank will hold an event from October 28 to the end of the year, offering up to 6,000 My Shinhan Points to customers who newly issue Shinhan Meme through the companies' applications, and providing additional rewards to monthly users. They will also give away digital devices such as Z Flip, iPhone 13, AirPods Pro, Galaxy Buds Pro, Nintendo, and mobile gift certificates through a lottery. In particular, a program is in place that provides additional benefits to both the friend who recommends and the friend who receives the recommendation when applying through friend referrals.
