[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] A plan to impose a fine of 70,000 won on two-wheeled vehicles that cross the center line is being promoted.
The National Police Agency announced on the 27th that it has publicly notified the "Partial Amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Road Traffic Act" containing this content.
Under the current Road Traffic Act, if it is proven by photographic or other video recording media that a car or tram has crossed the center line, a fine can be imposed on the employer or others. However, there was no fine amount for two-wheeled vehicles crossing the center line.
Once the amendment is enforced, a fine of 70,000 won can also be imposed for two-wheeled vehicles crossing the center line. The National Police Agency plans to collect opinions until December 6 and proceed with the amendment process.
